Artificial intelligence (AI) is transforming our world in ways that were once considered science fiction, but this rapid integration into our daily lives raises serious concerns for humanity's future. From smart speakers that understand our commands to search engines that handle our vaguest queries, AI's pervasive presence is not without its drawbacks. What does this mean for the future of humanity? We should indeed be worried about the rapid advancements in AI technology. Let's explore AI Ethics through a biblical lens.
Scriptural Lessons on AI's Role in Our Lives
AI has advanced subtly, often without us fully realizing it. Devices like Amazon Alexa and Google Home respond to voice commands, while Google’s search engines handle even the most complex queries. Music platforms like Spotify create playlists that feel personalized, and social media curates content based on our interests. Even navigation apps efficiently map our routes with precision.
Yet, AI's influence extends beyond these everyday conveniences into areas with significant consequences. It diagnoses medical conditions, interprets complex data to forecast weather, and even authors academic papers, often surpassing human ability. AI's involvement in government security systems, facial recognition, and chatbots like GPT-3, which produce text indistinguishable from human writing, presents ethical and privacy challenges. Only God should be able to do such things. Is Ai God? I believe so, only not the God you would want to serve.
1 Corinthians 10:23: "I have the right to do anything,” you say—but not everything is beneficial. “I have the right to do anything”—but not everything is constructive."
The verse from 1 Corinthians 10:23 emphasizes the distinction between having the freedom to act and choosing actions that are truly beneficial and constructive. In the context of AI, this verse serves as a reminder that while we have the capability to develop and implement advanced technologies, we must consider its impact on the future of humanity. The advancements in AI, from voice assistants to complex data interpretation, highlight our ability to innovate. However, as AI integrates into critical aspects such as healthcare, government security, and personal privacy, it's crucial to weigh the ethical implications and consequences headed our way. The verse calls for alertness on technological progress. Throughout scripture, human carelessness has often led people to serve other gods, and today, we are doing the same with technology.
Genesis 1:28: "God blessed them and said to them, 'Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.'"
Genesis 1:28 emphasizes humanity's role in stewardship and dominion over the earth, highlighting our responsibility to manage and care for the planet and its creatures. However, consider how far we've strayed, with over 110 million animals dying each year due to scientific testing. As AI subtly advances in our lives, we face the challenge of maintaining this God-given dominion, as AI threatens to alter that balance. This shift is not what God intended, and it calls for reflection on how we exercise our authority over creation.
Romans 12:2: "Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will."
Romans 12:2 urges us not to conform to worldly patterns, instead advocating for transformation through mind renewal to discern God’s will. This directive is particularly relevant in the context of AI's subtle yet pervasive advancements. As AI-driven technologies, like virtual assistants, search engines, and personalized content platforms, increasingly shape our daily lives, much like prophetic insights did in biblical times, they influence our thinking and behaviors, often without our full awareness. The passage encourages mindfulness and discernment, prompting individuals to critically evaluate the impact of AI on their lives and to ensure their values and decisions align with their deeper spiritual beliefs rather than merely following technological trends.
Trust and Discernment in the Age of Technology
This widespread reliance on AI technology diminishes human abilities and judgment, making us overly dependent on machines, as we already are today. The potential for misuse and the loss of privacy are already growing threats. As AI continues to advance, it's crucial to trust our God given instincts to examine its societal impact and stand up against it, shuting it down somehow. Let's be clear here people, we have followed the wrong God. How many times in scripture do we see this occur? Did those who did such a thing recognize their fault while doing so? No, they did not. What about those in the wilderness? He had to send a plague of Vipers to catch their attention, and let's be clear God never instructed Moses to put wings on his snake. The medical staff is an Egyptian Seraphim. COVID-19 was our warning. LISTEN TO YOUR GOD.
Isaiah 44:9-11 All who make idols are nothing, and the things they treasure are worthless. Those who would speak up for them are blind; they are ignorant, to their own shame. Who shapes a god and casts an idol, which can profit nothing? People who do that will be put to shame; such craftsmen are only human beings. Let them all come together and take their stand; they will be brought down to terror and shame.
Numbers 21:5-9 The people spoke against God and against Moses: “Why have you brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? For there is no bread, there is no water, and our soul loathes this disgusting food!” Yahweh sent venomous snakes among the people, and they bit the people. Many people of Israel died. The people came to Moses, and said, “We have sinned, because we have spoken against Yahweh and against you. Pray to Yahweh, that he take away the serpents from us.” Moses prayed for the people. Yahweh said to Moses, “Make a venomous snake, and set it on a pole. It shall happen that everyone who is bitten, when he sees it, shall live.” Moses made a serpent of bronze, and set it on the pole. If a serpent had bitten any man, when he looked at the serpent of bronze, he lived.
AI's influence reaches far beyond mere conveniences, significantly impacting vital sectors like healthcare, where it excels at diagnosing diseases and analyzing medical images. In scientific research, AI plays a pivotal role in determining protein structures and facilitating drug discovery. Its influence also saturates creative industries, where it contributes to game design, generates images and videos, and composes music. In competitive fields, AI has showcased its skill in chess, Go, and various eSports, demonstrating its ability to think, analyze, and plan more swiftly than humans. This presents a potential danger.
Proverbs 3:5-6 "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight."
Proverbs 3:5-6 encourages us to place our trust in the Lord rather than relying solely on our own understanding. While AI offers remarkable capabilities in various fields, from healthcare to creative industries, it also brings challenges like over-dependence, privacy concerns, and potential misuse. And I must inform you that millions of people have been wrongfully diagnosed as schizophrenic because of such concerns. James 1:5 "If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you."
The concerns about AI technology's impact on human skills and judgment align with the wisdom in James 1:5, which encourages seeking wisdom from God and highlights the importance of divine guidance over human or technological capabilities. As AI's influence grows in critical fields like healthcare and research, it emphasizes the need for discernment—a quality that aligns with the wisdom James mentions. While AI offers significant advancements, the potential for misuse and privacy issues calls for seeking wisdom from Christ.
The Ethical and Existential Implications of AI Advancements
These advancements untimely will not be beneficial for humanity. The Viper will continue to fool us with the awesomeness of such promises until he no longer needs us. Then things will begin to shift and will end up at our demise. COVID-19 was our warning. LISTEN TO YOUR GOD. The rapid evolution of AI has already fueled fears of an apocalyptic future dominated by machines. We need to listen to our God given instincts. Popular culture has long perpetuated these fears with tales of machine rebellions and rogue AI. The reality of AI is more subtle and complex, yet the potential risks are undeniable.
The major concern is the technological singularity, a point headed our way. We must take action before we reach this point. The technological singularity is where technological growth becomes uncontrollable and irreversible, leading to the emergence of superintelligent AI. Experts caution that this could bring about consequences more severe than any man-made disaster, even surpassing the destructive potential of nuclear weapons. So why do we continue to aid in this progress? The singularity marks a major shift in technological progress, similar to the emergence of humans on Earth. Wake up!
Proverbs 1:7: "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction."
The verse from Proverbs 1:7 suggests that true knowledge begins with reverence for the Lord, implying that wisdom is rooted in a deeper understanding and respect for divine guidance. In the context of AI advancements, this proverb is a reminder of the importance of humility and ethical considerations.
The fears associated with AI—such as the possibility of a technological singularity—underscore the necessity for thoughtful reflection of such innovations. Just as the proverb warns that fools despise wisdom and instruction, ignoring ethical considerations and the broader impact on humanity will lead to unintended consequences, the extinction of all breathing life, inadvertently KILLING CHRIST.
Revelation 13:8 All inhabitants of the earth will worship the beast—all whose names have not been written in the Lamb’s book of life, the Lamb who was slain from the creation of the world.
Genesis 11:6: "The Lord said, 'If as one people speaking the same language they have begun to do this, then nothing they plan to do will be impossible for them.'"
Genesis 11:6 highlights the power of a unified language, suggesting that when people communicate effectively, their potential is limitless. In the context of AI language translators, this verse resonates with the idea that breaking down language barriers has led to greater collaboration and innovation. By enabling diverse groups to understand each other, AI translators bring us closer to a world where shared knowledge and joint efforts can achieve the seemingly impossible, such as AI, which is what God intended to keep us from doing.
Isaiah 55:8-9: "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," declares the Lord. "As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts."
Isaiah 55:8-9 highlights the distinction between divine understanding and human reasoning, suggesting that God's thoughts and ways are beyond our comprehension. In the context of AI advancements and the concerns surrounding the technological singularity, this verse underscores the limitations of human foresight and control. While we strive to innovate and push boundaries, the consequences of such developments will elude our grasp, echoing the notion that there are higher principles and truths we do not fully understand.
In conclusion, the rapid advancements in AI technology present dangers to humanity and all breathing life. It is essential to maintain a perspective rooted in ethical considerations, divine guidance, and a sense of responsibility towards one another. By seeking wisdom from higher principles, as highlighted in the scriptures, we can strive for a future where innovation is shut down turning us back towards our creator.
